Exciting Merger Recommendation

A Brighter Future Together

WeStreet’s Board of Directors and management are proposing and enthusiastically support a merger between WeStreet Credit Union & CommunityAmerica Credit Union.

For over 80 years, WeStreet’s core mission has been serving and enriching the lives of others. This merger is an opportunity to expand that mission to better serve you, our employees, and our community by combining two strong credit unions as one.

How This Benefits You

Sharing Profits with Members

CommunityAmerica’s Profit Payout program rewards members who use CommunityAmerica for most of their banking needs. Since 2012, they have returned more than $110 million to members through this program. If the merger is approved, you would be eligible for this program.

More Locations and Convenience

CommunityAmerica brings a strong and expanding presence across the Midwest including Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas, as well as locations in several states across the country. Together, our members’ access to branch locations will grow from 13 to 90 branches across 15 states, dramatically increasing where you can bank.

Enhanced Community Impact

CommunityAmerica is committed to giving back to their communities. Since 2020, the credit union has contributed over $8 million in philanthropy and community support. We will remain a community-minded financial institution dedicated to enriching lives and investing in the communities we serve.

Greater Financial Strength

Together, we’ll have over $10 billion in assets providing financial security and creating more resources that will be re-invested in our members and communities. These investments would come in the form of improved technology to enhance your experience, new products, and services to meet more of your banking needs.

WeStreet Employees & Branches

No WeStreet branches will close because of the proposed merger, and you can expect to see and interact with the same friendly WeStreet team members as you do now.

Better Together

We carefully considered what this merger would mean for our members. Your Board of Directors asked hard questions, evaluated compatible culture, and reached one conclusion: our members will be better served together.

FAQs

Why is WeStreet recommending a merger with CommunityAmerica?

Our decision to recommend a merger with CommunityAmerica is centered on our long-term strength, future opportunities, and commitment to our members and employees.

Partnering with CommunityAmerica strengthens our financial position, expands our resources and capabilities, and brings together two organizations with similar values, cultures, and a shared people-first mindset.

CommunityAmerica’s strong commitment to exceptional member service and helping members achieve financial peace of mind is an important reason we believe they’re the right partner for WeStreet. By combining our strengths and resources, we can provide greater stability, expand opportunities, and continue providing meaningful support to our members and employees for years to come.

How will I benefit from the merger?

WeStreet members will benefit from enhanced value-added products, services, technologies, and expanded access for more convenient ways to bank.

CommunityAmerica’s focus is, and always will be, on the number of people they can help. One example of this is their annual Profit Payout program, which rewards members who use CommunityAmerica for most of their banking needs. Since 2012, they have returned more than $110 million to members through this program. If the merger proceeds, our members would be eligible to benefit from this program, as well.

What information will I receive?

All primary account holders will receive a letter and notice in the mail to the account address. This letter includes the benefits of the merger, your voting ballot, and more. This webpage will be regularly updated with additional information as available.

Will any branches close?

No current WeStreet branch locations will close as a result of the merger, and branch staff will continue to serve our members just as they do today.

What does the member vote entail?

Members who choose to vote will have 45 days to cast their vote by mail. After the voting period closes, a Special Member Meeting will be held on Friday, November 20 to count and finalize the vote.

What do I do if I need a replacement packet or ballot?

If you need a replacement packet or ballot, please email [email protected] to arrange a time to pick up a replacement ballot at the HoganTaylor office: HoganTaylor 2222 S. Utica Place, Suite 200 Tulsa, OK 74114

You may also contact Christy Lutz at 405-418-8908 for assistance with scheduling a replacement ballot pickup.

How do I submit my ballot?

To ensure the integrity and independence of the merger voting process, WeStreet Federal Credit Union is prohibited from handling member ballots. Ballot must be received by 12 PM on Thursday, November 19 to be counted.

You may mail your ballot to HoganTaylor using the enclosed envelope from your mailing packet.

Can I turn in my ballot in person?

You may cast your vote in person at the Special Member Meeting on Friday, November 20 at 8:30 AM at 9323 E 21st St Tulsa, OK 74129 with the ballot you received in the mail. This is the only time ballots will be accepted in person.

Our Promise to You

Our commitment to you, your family, and this community is not going anywhere. Your accounts, your member service team, and the service you have come to count on will remain through this transition with benefits and improvements to come.
