As temperatures cool and the leaves begin to change, fall is one of the best times to get out and explore all that our community has to offer. The good news? You don’t have to spend a lot of money to make memories. From scenic walks and pumpkin patches to community events and local attractions, there are plenty of affordable ways to enjoy the season!

Explore Tulsa’s Outdoor Spaces

It’s the perfect time to visit Tulsa’s parks and trails. The Gathering Place offers free admission and features miles of walking paths, playgrounds, gardens, public art, and seasonal programming for all ages. https://www.gatheringplace.org/

Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area provides hiking and biking trails with beautiful views of the city and surrounding landscape. Pair your visit with a picnic for an inexpensive day outdoors.

Visit Local Pumpkin Patches

Nothing says autumn quite like pumpkins, corn mazes, and hayrides. Many pumpkin patches throughout the Tulsa area offer free admission or low-cost entry, allowing families to enjoy seasonal activities without stretching their budget. Visiting during weekdays or community event days can often help save even more.

Take in Tulsa’s Arts and Gardens

A stroll through Philbrook Museum of Art’s gardens is especially beautiful during the fall season. While museum admission applies, special events, family activities, and membership discounts can make a visit more affordable. https://www.philbrook.org/

Downtown Tulsa also offers free opportunities to experience public art, local murals, and community spaces that showcase the city’s creative spirit.

Enjoy Community Festivals and Events

Fall is packed with community events throughout the Tulsa area. The Tulsa State Fair, held each October, offers a variety of entertainment, exhibits, agricultural displays, and family-friendly attractions. While some activities require admission, visitors can often find discounted ticket days and special promotions. https://www.tulsastatefair.com/

Many neighborhoods, churches, and local organizations also host free fall festivals featuring games, live music, food trucks, and family-friendly activities.

Discover Seasonal Family Fun

Families looking for low-cost entertainment can find plenty of options throughout the season. Local libraries frequently host free storytimes, craft events, and educational activities. Attractions like Woodward Park and community gardens often offer seasonal programming that allows children to learn about nature while having fun. https://www.tulsakids.com/fall-break-fun-in-tulsa/
